Full Moon Tea/Mocktail Recipe

FAIRY GARDEN MATCHA LEMONADE

When the flowers bloom, the fae come out to play. This refreshing libation is an etheral blend of green tea, fruits, and florals coming together to refresh, hydrate, and caffeinate. It's a great drink for a garden party; you can also leave a small thimbleful somewhere out in nature as an offering to the fae folk.

EQUIPMENT

-Kettle (or other method of heating water)

-Spoon (or matcha whisk)

-Cocktail Shaker (optional)

-Hawthorne Strainer (optional)

INGREDIENTS

-1/2 tsp Matcha Powder

-2 to 3 fl oz Filtered or Spring Water (for prepping matcha)

-1 fl oz Lavender Syrup (You can make your own, try some of our Lavender Sugar, or if you're shopping for a cafe, I like using Monin Lavender syrup.)

-5 to 7 Drops Rosewater

-10 fl oz Strawberry Lemonade

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1- Prep The Matcha. Heat the tea water to 160-170 degrees Fahrenheit. Add 3 fl oz of water and stir or whisk until fully combined and aerated.

Step 2- Prep The Shaker. Add matcha, lavender syrup, and rosewater to the cocktail shaker and dry shake for 30 seconds without ice.

Step 3- Shake To Chill. Add ice and shake again for 15-20 seconds, or until well chilled and aerated.

Step 3- Finish And Garnish. Strain into a highball glass and top with strawberry lemonade. You can garnish with a lemon wheel or sliced strawberry, or mix a pinch of matcha in with sugar and citric acid to make a garnishing sugar for dusting the rim.

NOTES

This drink also excels as a cocktail as well as a mocktail. Add crushed ice, muddled mint, and bourbon (or bourbon substitute) for a julep-style drink. Add pink gin, creme de violette, and/or elderflower liqueur for a whimsical Flower Moon cocktail.
